Staying consistent with our Freedom Rebels theme from the first delivery, the Spring MMXIII is anchored by the Rising Rebels tee - which features the FCB Freedom Rebels Flag over the US Flag inspired by the iconic “Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima” imagery, a symbolic message representing the rise of the Freedom Rebels mantra and the completion of our collection - and consists of numerous other high quality garments: the Freedom Tee in Black and Freedom Rebels tee in Red, along withIn one new garment from our CdNMC series: the CdNMC Freedom Rebels Zip in Green, and one new garment from our Work Of arT series: the ‘Woodland Camo’ CdNMC Work Of arT.

The Freedom Rebels of Fresh Connection Brand invaded South Beach Miami on location for the Spring MMXIII: Freedom Rebels Digital Lookbook!

Showcased in this tropical lookbook are the two Freedom Rebel anchor pieces, the Freedom Tee and Freedom Rebels Baseball Tee. As well as the digital all over classic Work Of arT garment in Floral and Ice Camo respectively. Also seen in the lookbook is the staple FCB USA tee.

Not pictured (the weather was TOO hot) is the Worker’s Denim Shirt andCdNMC Freedom Rebels Zip, two top selling, high quality garments that are still available on the FCB Webstore.

We took our time creating this conceptual series of garments - straying away from our signature Socket Logo and FRESH® designs in place of a free range of uniquely inspired pieces to give you our first complete collection.

Staying consistent with our Freedom Rebels theme, the Spring MMXIII collection consists of five high quality tri-blend garments: the Freedom tee, Freedom Rebels Baseball Tee, CdNMC Freedom Rebel Zip, FCB USA tee in Red and the ‘Ice Camo’ Work Of arT tee as well as the Worker’s Denim Shirt. 

Creative Director Joshua Gadson takes us through his thought process as he talks origins and inspirations surrounding the three anchor pieces - the Freedom tee, Freedom Rebels Baseball Tee and the Worker’s Denim Shirt:

“The Freedom tee is inspired by the struggle and heartache blacks fought for all these years. We ultimately found out the land of the free is not so free and that promise of freedom is still just an illusion. That’s until you break out of what society views as freedom, hence the blood red strikethrough over “Freedom”, which is a double entendre representing pain and victory. Sometimes, in order to be free, free in mind, free in spirit, free in happiness, free in creativeness and free in general, you have to rebel. As for the Freedom Rebels Baseball Tee, it was directly inspired by the the fact that baseball was one the first professional sports to integrate black athletes in the world. And in order to attain freedom or in FCB’s case, a large goal, it’s going to take a strong, persistent and resilient team of free thinkers and spirits. We are that team, we are Freedom Rebels. Lastly, the Worker’s Denim Shirt. Denim is historically one of the strongest and most durable fabrics, which is one of the reasons why it was first used as workwear. This was my way to pay tribute to all the hard work that our forefathers put into building this country over time. I also wanted to highlight the strength and durability that we all posses as people. African Americans have overcome a lot despite the odds never really being in our favor. The paint symbolizes the artistry that our people posses in doing whatever it is they do - always being done with a certain flair and sense of craftsmanship. The American Flag symbolizes freedom. Even with all of its faults, we still live in the greatest country in the world. The country where a little black kid from Hawaii, or kid of any other minority group for that matter, can be elected President.
